What is laCollection?

Founded in September 2021, laCollection is giving a second life to existing artworks by creating digital lithographies, certified digital versions (NFTs), certified by the world’s greatest museums, galleries and artists.

Over the past year the world has seen a lot of innovation, including NFTs (non-fungible token), the sensation of the “cyber world”. With these tokens you can make a digital avatar for any object, secure copyrights and even prevent theft of real world items. Most importantly, NFTs are putting the collectibles market on a new level.

Why laCollection ?

• Art needs a new wave of collectors: Collectors are key players in the art market. Their central financial support is well established, but their contribution goes much further… Their curiosity brings artists to light. They are often the ones who push institutions to innovate.
• Museums collections are often held in vaults and many great artworks rarely come into public view due to transportation or display limitations.
• It is impossible to own original artworks from museums’ collections. In Europe, reselling artworks after they entered museums’ collections is forbidden, and they are very rarely resold in the U.S.
• Authentication of artworks is a pre-requisite but is even more complex on digital : NFT is the solution

Values more artists and beneficiaries : a commission is paid on each transaction, even in the secondary market (similar as royalties principles in the music industry)

How it works

laCollection is a turnkey service that helps cultural institutions embrace Web 3.0. NFTs link digital versions of physical artworks to online ownership certificates stored on the blockchain. Each NFT is authenticated, approved by the relevant museum, gallery or artist, and secured on the blockchain. We either reuse an official image provided by the museum or create a digital replica thanks to our network of strategic partners specialized in the digitization of artworks. laCollection moderates the community, mints NFTs, distribute them and resell them.

• We are a growing team of 30+ Art, Culture & Technology enthusiats
• Our CEO is an expert in Blockchain, and has launched many partnerships with different blockchain companies. He is also the co-founder of the NFT Factory, supporting the French ecosystem to embrace this new technology and realize its full potential. He has always been passionate in art. Big traveller, he had the occasion to visit many museums in 15+ countries.
• Our CTO has developed the first Blockchain product for an Insurance industry many years ago, managed a team of 20+ developers for a marketplace and now wants to build the best-in-class NFT platform.
